May is the creative brand founded by visual artist Alejandra Avila, who brings over 20 years of artistic mastery to the urban landscape. Since 2012, Alejandra has specialized in large-scale murals, transforming public spaces in Guatemala, Mexico and Colombia with original, hand-painted designs using high-quality acrylics.
Driven by a constant evolution of style, she expanded her practice in 2025 into the intricate world of broken tile mosaics. Inspired by Gaudí’s legendary Trencadís technique, she recently completed two bespoke mosaic murals for the hospitality sector, blending architectural texture with vibrant storytelling.
Now based on the Gold Coast, Australia, Alejandra is seeking new canvases to continue her journey. Her mission is simple yet profound: to bring color to the city and leave a lasting artistic legacy within the Australian community.
